In paragraph 4 of my despatch No.193 of the
24th. July, 1905, forwarding copies of the Report of the Po
Leung Kuk for the year 1904, I stated that steps were being
taken on sanitary grounds to increase the open space about
the building occupied by the Institution and to afford a
small recreation ground for its inmates by taking in part
of a public road.

In connection with these steps I have now
the honour to ask Your Lordship's authority to grant to the
Tung Wah Hospital a Crown Lease free of premium and crown
rent of the road marked red on the enclosed plan and known
as Station Street. This road is practically disused as a
thoroughfare - At its North-west end is Po Yan Street on
the other side of which is the original Tung Wah Hospital
building, and at its South-east end is Pound Lane on the
